Cool thanks for the info, I have 2 Plastikov V4’s (a Draco and a 16”) and was hoping there was an easy way to make it go brrr. I may eventually gut my plastikov’s and use the parts to build 80% AK’s, unless I buy new parts kits, which I would rather do instead of destroying a perfectly good print. I’ll have to look into what you said to go brrr.

  • u/stickygumm01 · 2025-03-23 16:05:13 UTC · score 3

Id think so but I haven't tried it. It would depend on the plastikov selector and if it interferes or not. I've never had one in my hand to look, but a plastikov is one of my next projects since I already have a mixmatch of the critical parts

You can also modify a hammer retarder to work as a binary disconnector, use a FA disconnector in the standard location and a FA selector lever and have 3 position binary.

There's also a double disconnector 3 position design but the modified retarder is easier IMO.

  • u/Brrrrrrttttt · 2025-03-23 14:24:20 UTC · score 1

That’s what I figured, what about Pembie’s GoPik or whatever it’s called? The Binary disconnect, that should work right?

  • u/stickygumm01 · 2025-03-23 14:04:12 UTC · score 2

It would have to be a new design

  • u/Brrrrrrttttt · 2025-03-22 19:23:15 UTC · score 3

I’m not talking about the material I’m talking about the geometry of the receiver and how it doesn’t use a Ak safety

    Vitally important.

I don't know the facts BUT I don't think that the material would make too much of a difference.

I like AKs but I’m not great at knowing all the variants. That said it look a lot like a Draco front end.

Im planning working with a 43x frame by PP, I just don't know what % infill is decent enough for a frame. I am using Sunlu's PLA+ and PLA+ 2.0.

Finally got around to bringing my first print out and ran into some issues. ~150 rounds today and a large amount of FTF. After a good amount I noticed the forward part of the upper receiver is bent. I also noticed a couple rounds where it failed the bolt is tearing into the primer pocket and almost unseating it. I know the Mac design has some problems regarding feeding but this surprised me. Build is AVES upper receiver and feed ramp, bolt is from KAK, and printed in PA6-CF. thanks for any insight!

Hello there fellow gun enthusiasts I have been doing a little digging on these 3d printed guns and they seem awesome to me, I’m looking for a 3d printer that doesn’t break the bank doesn’t need to have all the bells and whistles of these others I’m just looking for one that can print with reasonable quality, mainly just want one that can print a little 22lr and won’t blow up in my hand, any suggestions?

I was wondering which length the magazine spring has for the 25 rounds magazine. I could only get my hands on a 30 round magazine spring so just need to cut it shorter. Anyone knows the measurements for the length? Or will the 30 menendez extendez magazine fit into the rouge 9? Thanks in advance

DD19.2 Slide doesn't lock back when applying downward pressure on slide

Wondering if this is a big enough issue to worry about. When racking the slide back, if I don't press down on the slide, I'm able to lock the slide back fine. It's only when applying downward pressure that the slide doesn't lock back fully.

I noticed that if I take the trigger pin out (the pin that goes in the grip), the issue goes away, but obviously I shouldn't fire it without that pin installed. I already reamed out the hole in the trigger assembly a little to get everything to line up better back there, so I'm wary of removing any more material to try and make it work. Am I tripping too much? Should I just go ahead and test fire it anyways? The trigger resets fine. I have printed two frames, one rails up, one rails down, and the issue persists in both frames.
