  • If you are using my settings and want to try using a .6 nozzle instead of the .4 in my settings.

  • So I swapped to a 0.6 nozzle. If I change the setting in Orca to 0.6 from 0.4. It wont let me use your 3mf profile. So not sure if im understanding your post. Youre saying all the has to change is the line width? Nothing else? Or should I rebuild your profile in the 0.6 and then make sure all line widths are 0.5 like you say.

  • I've done some testing and got about 200 rounds through one frame. It's done really well so far for PLA+. I opted to leave the grip safety area alone to preserve some strength. I should also note that ive only tested with 9mm. 45 or 10 mm would probably not hold up as well unless printed in pa6 as you suggest.

  • I have to agree. Also, the Ok Boomer has a very specific print orientation to be successful according to the docs. From the pictures it doesn't look like it was at the 22° as specified.

  • Pla+ is what I use. Filled filaments having a texture to them doesn't seem the best for magazine parts that slide. Not to say that you can't, theyd probably wear in after a while. Maybe that new high temp PLA (can't remember the name or brand) would be a good option.

    Ok Boomer with Changable Grips

    Had the idea to use the bushings themselves as the heat set inserts for the grip panels. Gonna get some rounds through these frames and if they hold up, I may release them

  • Yeah thats what I'm thinking. From the documentation, it seems the hammer pin hole is prone to cracking too. I'll beef up that area as much as I can. At the very least I plan on having the grips interchangeable if the grip safety is a no go.

    OK Boomer Grip Safety Question

    I'm remixing the Ok Boomer to add changeable grip panels back as well as the grip safety. Anyone know if there was a reason the grip safety was removed? Will adding that functionality back compromise the strength of the frame?

  • Not an expert but I'll usually pull a scales (or other) pattern from google images to use for texturing. Unseenkiller has a good video tutorial on how to add stippling/texture in blender and thats as far as my knowledge extends when it comes to blender.

    Pretty much done, just needs some live fire to really know how it performs. I went ahead and gave it the 15-22 look since its already borrowing its entire internal geometry and load assist.

    New deAR22 Magazine Design Coming Soon

    Current deAR22 magazines available have not performed well for me, so I am hoping to create the best functioning mags for the deAR22. This new design utilizes the the same track, followers, and springs as the printed 15-22 magazines I just released. Easy to load and no hang ups and/or binding. 25 rounds only for now. First print provides proof of concept. Just needs some tweaks for snug fitment in the magwell. Also, LRBHO functionality included in these!

  • It's worked well for my prints so far. I'm a bambu user so I'm probably spoiled in that I havent had to delve too deep into many of the settings.

    Coming Soon - S&W 15-22 Magazines

    Based off the Fair Deal Magazines by General Custer (great work). Will be compatible with Black Dog Machine springs as well as the OEM Z-springs. Two sets of followers for each spring type. Z-springs can also be found on AliExpress and I will provide the dimensions on release.

    SCS AR22 Striker Concept

    Put together a no drill SCSSS and it got some ideas flowing. Seems like this could be a tool-less design. The striker channel itself being the retainer for the sandwiched construction. 5 sets of 5 for $30 and you'd be set for quite a while. I don't break strikers often and I avoid dry firing as a preventative measure but this would be some extra peace of mind.

    Printable HK Sights

    Side project I'm working on. Trying to keep them authentic looking. Front sight is finished. The post is SCS-able and I've made a blitzkrieg style alternate post as well. Commercially available posts are not interchangeable as I had to move the M3 slot down a few mm.

    The rear sight poses more of a challenge. Drum is functional and is basically the same design that the MP22 build uses but I'm still figuring out how to make windage adjustable as there is not a lot of material there to work with. HK sells the bolts individually for these adjustments but $5 each. May try some heat-serts and some set screws to achieve the same result while not forking over $20 minimum for two bolts. For now I'm using a fixed version of the rear sight with the rotating drum.

    Plasticcatto DD19.2 Update

    Sup guys. I am no longer active on Reddit, so I'm posting an update on this project here. 19X frames are done. Just finished the 19 frame and will be working on all the other interchangeable goodies. The 3/8" tungsten weights for the front have been cut down to 2.5" and I was able to find a listing on Ebay with the exact measurements needed for about 30 bucks. My brass top plate came in so I'll be testing these frames very soon.
