Glock slide printed inside of it, and I m not sure a Glock would be the right choice, anything simpler (older) in .32 would be more appropriate, also if you don't know and haven't manipulate/disassembly several gun you won't go nowhere.

Look around for semi auto handgun in bigger caliber than 22, you won't find anything like this for a reason, it's a complicated balance of weight, material, precise machining... There are video of people building 1911 by hand, filing, building complicated jig, bending, brasing and welding with a lot of handcraft, even though... It s nothing compared to 3dp

But, laser cutting, bending jig, 3d printing, etc .. could make it possible, but it take more than one man to figure out everything.

Btw thanks to everyone involved in the development of those tools, I m learning more here than I ever learned in school.

Nice idea, so square tube and glock slide printed on top of it? That would simplify the process to a level of childs play, only thing then would be to get simple solution to the front and back steel plates similar to this photo. I'm so pumped about this as an European.

I couldn’t export to the format they wanted free fusion version doesn’t support such files for SCS

Mass is an easy thing to fix.

Tungsten is dense and can be added in shot or rod form.

Like over all this just add a square tube and just play with a dremel?

  • u/Most_Camel_8440 · 2023-06-19 13:05:32 UTC · score 1

That could be fixed by adding some lead weights

There's people in AWCY? that have working EDM prototypes that would cut that steel no problem.

where do i find those metal plates ? (would like to take a closer look at them); in the meantime, you can always make a metal slide yourself using basic tools > https://imgur.com/TFv5X9b

Maybe you could use some standard square tube as a sleeve (2020 or 2525mm), stack your printed part inside, open the ejection port and partially the bottom.

What is straight can be laser cutted and stacked to keep the weight up and what is too small or ramped or whatever (ejector, ramp, etc ...) Printed.

Everything hold together with location hole and an all thru rod to maintain alignment

There still won't.be enough mass and the slide velocity will be abhorrent.

I’ve got a full manual machine shop in my garage ( TIG/stick welders, 3 mills, a metal shaper, drill presses, several grinders, saws, and 3 lathes), I’d be happy to give them a try. If I can set up some jigs, I could potentially crank ‘em out that way as I don’t have CNC capabilities, nor do I want to go there!

If you’ve got dimensioned drawings, send ‘em along.

Glock in 9mm might not work but in a .380 or .32 acp diy pistol it could work.

Like the MP5 22lr trigger pack, the HK416 22lr trigger pack can now rotate into the 3rd position. Development will continue to make it have FRT on the 3rd position. The 416 trigger pack is more challenging due to the hammer spring goes between the safety and trigger, taking up valuable space.

Some updates for the MP5 project. I have live fire function tested. The trigger is working as expected. I’m making a buffer weight to be added in the recoil spring channel, hopefully it will eliminate bolt bounce. This buffer weight will work in both the MP5 and 416 22lr.

CRAP! Don't do it! It's too good, and you'll end up with 27 extra sets (if you ordered 28 sets just for free shipping and didn't have anything else) that you might never use 🤣🤣.

But seriously, finally took my rifle to the range and went through 200 rounds on a PLA+ printed No Drill SCSSS. Massive thanks and kudos to rucksochtslos for the design.

I didn't take my phone or anything to shoot video with because honestly I didn't think a PLA+ one would survive. I'm sure it will break at some point, but dude....you are amazing. Your SCS design makes the super safety extremely cheap and very reliable. Again, thank you for your work. Next time I hit the range, I'll bring a camera. Now I just gotta figure out what to do with the 27 other sets 🤣🤣.

Side Note: For those who have made one, how has your experience been so far?

What is a 3d printed gun

Sounds like a obvious question. Im curious about what is actually 3d printed. I see some that are only lowers and then all the interals are metal and the entire upper is metal and baught, some i see have metal all around the barrel. So is a 3d printed gun just anything that shoots that has a piece of 3d printed material, is it just a fun hobby so why define it, or do most people 3d print a lower and everything else is metal?

As the title implies. To be fair i have a file for this and I’ve printed 2. They feed properly and the follower activates the slide stop when empty. But i think the design is lacking finesse. Haven’t started learning cad yet but i will soon. Work been smokin my ass😂

Guy was being an asshole in the comments to the bottom designer. Got mad that he released an "unprofessional" free gauge when the dude sells that one for $20. So...I replicated his design and released everything for free. Step files and all. Have at it.

Hello everyone i come to you today with a question that probably gets asked a lot these days but what is a good enclosed printer for around $300-350 for making firearms/components. I have a ender 3 pro currently but i don't think I can even get it leveled enough to confidently produce a safe and functional firearm i tried an autolevel kit once but I couldn't really get it to work well :/

So I recently upgraded to a Neptune 3 Plus and finally decided to pull the trigger on my first true 3D2A print. I am pretty familiar with 3D printing from other projects, so I swung for the fences with u/DaFizzlez "Blicky". I followed the read-me as close as possible but had to research some setting and SWAG a couple. Printed at .16 quality, with 10 walls, 100% infill, 60 bed and 205ish nozzle temp. I used Prusa since I couldn't get the support settings how I wanted in Orca or Cura. The frame took about 40 hours looked great all throughout the process. However, after removing supports and upon further inspection the front of the frame was warped pretty significantly. I suspect the warp was from printing the frame at a slight angle to cut down on print time and filament usage. Also the spots where supports were attac
