I thought about drying it again but its been 15% humidity here and I dry everything for 12 hours after opening and usually a little more before it goes on the ams

I hope they didn't change their formula, it was so great

IIRC Esun PLA+ went from being top tier to mid-bottom tier because they removed one additive that Polymaker and Duramic still use (or I hope Duramic still uses it)

It was the upper! Ran the handguard no pic supports last night and it came out great! Thanks for the nudge

I wonder if it got "wet"? Could be worth trying to dry and see if it improves or not

Is this the upper thats included in the dear22 pack or something else?

I think the brim you’re thinking of is called “mouse ear” and is used for bed adhesion for sharp corners on the print that are most likely to warp up off the bed. I use them and they are pretty great for small or large objects

I have yet to find any combination of settings for support that create a proper Interface Layer on angled surfaces. Flat, no prob. Angles? No so much.

This is Tree(auto)>Organic, Top Z Distance .2, 3 Interface Layers, 0 top Spacing (solid)

    https://preview.redd.it/4ks112cfbnse1.png?width=1136&format=png&auto=webp&s=63e6d19aa22f099d6700134ed01a68fa228a4b85

There is a perfect blue Interface Layer for the flat but nada for the angle. Seems to be a shortcoming of Orca, or I just haven't learned the right settings to enable it.

Yep, I leave orca brim settings set to auto and determine if I really need it or not. Tall skinny prints I leave it on

I was on a duramic kick, got some black PLA+ and TPU and it was amazing, Got some grey rolls and its fail after fail, and if it doesn't fail its ugly and different shades of grey and blobby. Never had a bad roll of anything till now.

Angles are where I was still getting a bit of rough bottom layer where the part interfaces! Any tips? I'm def still a newb here

Oh got it! Yeah I was thinking of the brim. So are people using that to help with adhesion or are they running those as supports? Sorry if this is dumb. Still learning

I read here that it might last a mag or at most 250 rounds.

Can I print multiple and keep changing them whenever I occasionally want that rapid fire time ?

    Kindly let me know

Just pressing the last pin into my g19.3 lower build and realized I had two leftover parts. I rewatched the tutorial twice and still didn't seem to find these 2 parts mentioned or shown. Can anyone help identify and let me know how far I've gotta back up?

I saw some of yall mention using a balljoint press to pop this out. I don't have access to a press, but was curious about using my impact on the ball joint press. How did yall orient it get it out? Im tempted to go rent one from autozone and just go to town with my impact. I haven't seen anyone post a how to, so I might throw this in the freezer and try and post a video if it works

I have managed to shoot it a couple of times, but it takes multiple strikes to get it to fire, I tempered my homemade trigger spring and it shot off one primer on the first try, but it's been hitting low and missing the rim.

    Any suggestions?

Completed and range ready. Finally done but this being my first full build, I printed quite a few frames to perfect the printing and how I wanted it to look. I stippled another PLA+ one but am not going to for this one. I really want to know if there is a way to seal or protect the frame, if anyone has any ideas of what to use, let me know, I will experiment for us all. Love, peace and chicken grease✌️

Hi, coming here with a mechanical question of sorts. Not really a 3D printing question per see (though it relates to a project I will do) but I figured some of the mad scientists in here would have good answers.

I just got a 5" M2.0, and curiosity got the better of me so I tried putting the barrel in my Carry Comp to see if it would fit. It fit, so that got me wondering exactly how stupid I was, or if I was actually a genius discovering the ultimate slide lightening technique of just having a short (and cut) slide with the ballistics advantages of a longer barrel. Not sure if I would actually prefer the light slide or not, but I am mostly curious from a technical standpoint. In particular, I have the new RXM and will start CADing some grips to 3D print and may want to make some atypical designs that would be complemented

I’ll preface this with the fact that I’m a 3D model rookie and not at all under the impression that I know what I’m doing. 90% of this is just remixing other people’s hard work.

I came up with what I think is a pretty sturdy way to mount the handguard to the barrel and add some “heft” to the front half.

Barrel slides through a block that the handguard also bolts to. Some rear wedges attached at the back fill the handguard holes and support the barrel.

I realize this puts the entirety of the weight against the receiver threads and barrel. It’s only a .22 so I’m not sure I’m critically concerned but I also think the space between the hand guard and upper receiver looks odd with just the barrel nut exposed so my thought is to add a transition piece that helps share the load and smooths out that transition.

    Befor

I remember some years ago stumbling across a pretty good rap song with lyrics referring clearly to 3d printed guns. Mentioning specifically the infill percentage and esun pla+, I can't seem to find it anywhere though. I checked youtube and bitchute, does anyone know where I could find it?

Hello, I am new to the community, but fiearms have always interested me. I have some questions:

I live in a very restricted country, and I have basically no chance of buying any kind of ammunition. I also can't really order gun kits, since they search every inport package on the border. I only have a 3D printer, and no CNC or milling machine :(

So: How do I obtain ammo, any kind will do, since im not really into shooting people or animals.

Can someone give me a good 3D printable gun? I want a mag fed pistol with Mostly 3d printed parts. I can machine some stuff (I have a drill) but no really complex stuff.

    Thank you for the help!

    Sorry if my english sucks
