What frame? I haven't found a 43 that isn't super basic and blocky. This one looks pretty good.

That’s fair. Yeah I really don’t want to buy a new phone, heck I didn’t even want this one.😂 I would still have my old slide phone if it wasn’t for work. I have loved 3D printers for awhile, I like laptops too; I just have this particular disdain for smartphones. I hate the thought of spending money on a new pocket brick that will certainly distract the hell out of me. Now, buying a new box that turns ideas into plastic, that sounds a lot more fun.😂

  • u/lildaddy8778 · 2024-10-08 18:21:15 UTC · score 2

nah your phone still works, wait til it breaks and then bite the bullet “it just stopped working, i had to get a new one” vs “i know i just bought a printer but i want a new phone too” (make it seem like a need and necessity vs a current want)

  • u/NoNefariousness8370 · 2024-10-08 17:40:59 UTC · score 1

That is an absolutely solid plan. The only real issue is that I have been researching (putting off) replacing my 8 year old phone the last few months, and I know that if I drop $400 on an awesome printer, that it will brick within the same week with my luck. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and buy both right now.😂

  • u/lildaddy8778 · 2024-10-08 16:41:48 UTC · score 7

just say “babe, i had to. originally it was $800, 50% off for $400! i’ll make half of that back selling my printer so i got a $800 printer for $200!”. use girl math to your advantage and over exaggerate and you’ll be fine🤣

Agreed on the floppy spool stick.

The only good thing you can say about it is that it came with the printer.

U\pentaxshooter I fail to see anywhere in that document that shows you can cook chicken twice as long as recommended and have a save product.

    Interesting read either way.

FWIW, what I said matters more than what you infered from it.

Further, bacteria is not molecularly bound to chicken in the way that moisture bonds to a polymer. The bacteria does not need to be released from the chicken, it simply needs to die.

  • u/cheezenkrakerz · 2024-10-08 13:42:21 UTC · score 2

Are they? Your link indicates you need to cook it ~150 times as long at 140, not twice as long.

  • u/chihawks35 · 2025-02-07 16:10:10 UTC · score 1

Absolutely has. And it’s much appreciated. I’m loving This printer so far, however the spool holder is the largest piece of shit I’ve ever come in contact with. That would be my suggestion to anyone who buys it is print a new one first.

I’ve been printing filters, risers, etc and my damn roll of petg has fallen off at least at least 5 times.

  • u/bowtie_k · 2025-01-05 18:52:11 UTC · score 1

Thanks for the info. I'm looking to get my first printer and I'm leaning heavily towards the Q1 pro since it seems to be very user friendly and less fiddley than pretty much everything else in its price range, but the smaller print bed is something I guess I am a little concerned about.

Going to have to redo this one. Ran out of fimimint and really fubbed the paint cover up.

Also. Does anybody have the filer for the OK Boomer.22 "grip safety plate" the one I was able to find is different enough to require major rework.

    Happy Saturday!

I am in the process of finalizing and posting a modular gun stand, and have already designed inserts for Glock 17/19, Glock 43/48, Staccato, and AR-15 magwells.

This base requires m4 threaded inserts and mounts each insert with m4 x 20mm screws.

I’ll include links on my Makerworld post to these once I get it posted, hopefully tonight or tomorrow.

I’ve also created a 3 gun version for those of you looking to stack em.

Is there any other insert that y’all would want?

Also, would anyone want me to design a 2 gun version?

I have the ender 3V2 and I’m trying to make some components- I unfortunately live in a very non-2A state but would like to build a 15 build and possibly making it able to handle .458 socom- but first print was a “success” sorta, I would like some help cleaning this up or dialing this in because man it’s been years since I’ve done this! Any help is greatly appreciated- current settings I used- 40-50mm/s-190 nozzle temp- Layer height: 0.2 mm (standard), lower to 0.12 mm for finer details Wall line count: 2–3- Top/bottom layers: 4–5.

Can this be redesigned so that people could print their own? Just curious as ive seen people say the design is simple, yet the company has a hard time creating and supplying orders.

It's been about a year or two since I had my finger on the pulse of all the new releases, and FOSSCAD in general is pretty... diasporic. I seem to remember someone creating a database logging releases and teams - is that still around/updated? Can we filter for projects based on specs (caliber, parts kit, platform, etc)?

I'm looking to build a new 9mm PCC with the following attributes (not all are requirements, but I do like these features):

    1. Above all else it must look cool. Unique/sci-fi/etc are good. This is highly subjective.
    2. Compatible with Glock magazines for parity with my Sub2000/etc.
    3. Side-charging is cool
    4. Bullpups are cool
    5. Suppressor host
    6. Relatively reliable/easy to maintain/mod or accessorize
    7. Cheaply built, either through highly available parts (AR parts, etc) or through mostly printed par

I've checked all over the sea, and on the Guncad Index. All STLs, from what I can tell.

I'm working a dumb project. And the MAV9 is legit my favorite glock frame of all time, so I'd love to use it as a base.

    Thanks for any help!

Whats are your settings for thin walls for PET-CF with 0.6mm nozzle?

I printed it with 320°C and 65°C chamber temp on an x-max 3 at 30-40mm/s with 0.2mm layers. But i feel that it breaks too easy on the layers lines. Is this because it's a very stiff and brittle filament or did i do something wrong?

The part where the front rail goes is too tight for the SCFree 43x, i'm currently using the dd43x strike industries model and it fits fine with my aves dd43lpk. The measurement for the SCFREE front rail part is 16.300 x 13.590 and the measurement for the one i'm currently using and that fits is 16.702 x 13.950, how can i make the scfree front rail insert bigger to where i can put my front rail in?
