  • Which model are you using? We have PA6-CF ones with very deep Detent holes.

    Seems to hold up great.

  • I did 600 rounds in one weekend until I ran out of ammo. It’s been good to go since.

Melted a PLA lever, but once I switched to PA6-CF it’s been solid.

  • What part do you find wears on the printed ones? The Detent track? Or the profile of the cam holding up the activator?

Need an FRT? We got Super Safeties, TURD/Kabutos, and more!

Hey everyone! Wanted to share what we have available for those looking to upgrade their builds with an FRT or two.

We cater to a wide market, so for a lot of you 3D2A folks our DIY options probably would ring home the most. Granted we do have more drop-in/assembled kits at a higher price point.

I host FOSSCAD.io from FRT sales mostly. Some folks have asked about donations, but I don't feel comfortable talking folk's money without giving something in return.

So if you're in a legal state (see !supersafety@fosscad.io for the legality map) - and wanna support - buy an FRT today :)

PY2A Rails? Wait Time? Can I make my own?

    Hi Friends,

I ordered some PY2A G19 rails a while back. Still am waiting on my order.

    Bought two of these: https://www.printyour2a.com/product-page/g19-gen-5-slim-rail-set

Has anyone else had a long wait time?

In the case my order craps out, does anyone else supply PY2A rails? if not, is the design open enough to cut/bend my own? I have a CNC mill.

    ROF Bot Testing

As some of y'all may have noticed - there is a new @ROFBot@fosscad.io - I'm developing it myself.

Will eventually open source. But it's a bit of a buggy mess right now.

Please be patient with the bot, and take results with a grain of salt for now.

Attached is an image you would get commented on your post.

I'm playing around with the backend to use different strategies.

There is this GUI that u/schlarpc made: https://schlarpc.github.io/rof-gui/

It uses similar envelope detection, but a manual fixed threshold. It also reports the whole RPM of the clip along with mean/median burst rates. The downside to this is it caps out at a minimum spacing of 50ms per shot (~1200 RPM)

We're taking a different approach, attempting to comb through peaks and find shot audio, while filtering out echos/ejection noise.

It's buggy. But i've seen median error rates as low as 2% over my test data, but when it fails it fails hard.

Long story short, bot reply might be full of crap, but all the

  • It's buggy as hell right now. I've been working with OP to refine the model, but we need a better clip.

The FAN going wrrrh in the background is tripping up detection.

I have 3 modes i'm testing right now. Happy to share more. But I pulled a ton of clips from reddit for testing.

  • A Gen 3 Glock 19 isn’t super hard.

A harlot is a pretty common first build.

Pocket Pleaser (Ruger LCP) can be fun too.

    Apparently being anti-2A is profitable....

  • Brother... that's not how CNC machines work.

You need the CAD files... You can then generate G-Code for your specific CNC machine...

You also can't really rifle a barrel on a mill. You'd need to do ECM or use a button...

Buy a complete upper online. Print a frame. Buy some rails. Buy a LPK and some magazines online too. If you can't do all that, maybe this ain't for you.

  • Yeah I'm gonna update it. Good catch.

  • "Bump stock" means any device or instrument for a firearm that increases the rate of fire achievable with the firearm by using energy from the recoil of the firearm to generate a reciprocating action that facilitates repeated activation of the trigger.

Our opinion on that is that "recoil" is the mode of operation. Hence why we sell to NJ.

If you were to bolt the rifle to a bench rest or similar - a bump stock would not work, but a super safety would.

Recoil is the impulse of the whole rifle backwards - not the gas system pushing the BCG backwards.

Map of FRT Legality State by State

    As of Oct 27th, 2025.

Alaska is green, Hawaii is red. Colorado is only banned in specific counties. But I only had polygon data for the whole state.

Yellow means there is either a Bump Stock Ban, or other “Trigger Activator” Ban that specifically mentions “recoil” as the mode over operation.

The litmus test for legality there is whether or not arresting the recoil (bolting rifle to table, etc) would disable the functionality (i.e.) like a bump stock.

I’m by no means an authority on this, but from my research this is what I got.

Feel free to comment/challenge any states, and I'll update this post.

Interest in a DIY Parts Kit for the 3-pos SCS Super Safety?

    Hey friends,

I'm writing to see if there is any interest in a DIY parts kit for the SCS Super Safety.

    Kits would be for 3-pos.

    The kit would include:

    - 2x Grade 5 Titanium Wear plates (.04" + 0.06") - tops machined flat
    - 2x 1.5mm 304 Stainless Steel Rods - pre-cut to length
    - 1x Rounded Brass Detent Pin

    Price-wise I'm thinking $10. What do y'all think?

It's a fun project, I've had mine working very well. This cuts down a lot of the SCS and Amazon shopping logistics.

You'd just need a small mallet and some epoxy, maybe a 1.5mm drill bit if your printer isn't super dialed to clear out the holes.

I'll go by the shop and take a photo of what I'm thinking.

I also have pre-cut mil-spec triggers for sale for $20. But if you're in the DIY camp - I think I'd leave it to you for making your own cutting jig and doing your own trigger.

I could ostensibly include an uncut trigger for another $10. But I'm not su

I've read a bit about progressive presses versus single stage.

Any recommendations for something a bit more conservative?

I've created a website to help distribute new users across multiple FOSSCAD instances.

The goal is to reduce censorship/takedown risk and to encourage federation which keeps our content and information safer.
