So I finally got around to printing this. Got a late start. Should be finished printing last peices today.

I assume you used our standard PLA+ on this. It didn't mention a preferred filament. Any issue with overheating? I'm considering reprinting the breach face and barrel retainer with ASA but looking for opinions. I understand firework mortars are standard Chinese plastic and cardboard tubes so maybe I'm paranoid. I'm a PLA+ every unless it goes in the water kinds guy.

Ive been using 15 layers and 50% infill minimum. I might reprint the breech face and striker 3 layers at 100% infill. Not happy with the outcome of the top layers due to gaps on the inside perimeters. I tried changing the extruder multiplier and got up to 1.05 but it started to over extrude and top layer still had gaps but sanded fairly good. 1.02 was the sweet spot for black PLA+.

I plan to use EMT. I read the guides. Any tips on ensuring the bore is honed correctly? I guess I could make a plunk gauge. 26.5mm is 1.043 inches and 1in EMT is 1.049" ID. I'm worried about too much honing to rid that inner weld. I'm going to try again later to hunt down a better stock of EMT. Didnt relalize how gnarly that weld seam was on the stock at the Orange Depot. I'll try Blowes and disgrACE next.

Thickness for the scs parts? Im guessing .125"

Google "rcandy" and know that is essentially diy smokebomb ingredients.

Hey Danny... Has anyone tried using seamless tubing for one of these? There's a size close on OnlineMetals. It only has a .035" wall thickness compared to .057" of EMT. Thanks man!

  • u/OkProposal7560 · 2025-01-31 21:27:12 UTC · score 1

I'm going to try again without the metal rim reinforcement this time then. And I havent tried that method yet, ive just been eyeing it and using some gages but they are not precise enough, because based off of a NO GO and GO gage i should be fine for headspace but clearly something is off.

bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh are you kidding me haha. Let me try without the hardcore handle

  • u/kaewon · 2025-01-31 20:50:30 UTC · score 5

One of the issues is plastic compressing from the force of firing so more rigid filaments do better. Another is the metal rim as it's increasing headspace and I don't recommend it. If the metal rim is closing without any modification then there is already a tolerance issue. When checking headspace are you pushing the bolt back? A cleaning rod down the barrel would do. The issue the op is having is bolt movement and headspace gets too big

  • u/XxWHITE-RICExX · 2025-02-01 06:35:18 UTC · score 1

Are you using the hardcore wisp handle by any chance?

  • u/XxWHITE-RICExX · 2025-01-31 20:32:41 UTC · score 1

My thoughts exactly. Bolt action is hard because the bolt hast close at the perfect spot to work

  • u/OkProposal7560 · 2025-01-31 20:31:19 UTC · score 2

i have a version of each bolt. each metal design bolt face variation and have tried different barrels and what not. I have shimmed the barrel, i have bought headspace gauges and still no luck ejecting ANY casing because of deformation due to headspace. Tinkering constantly trying to get it right. I am entirely sure it is me, however, after looking online its sorta the problem that happens with bolt action ANYTHING. Its become the real hobby project. Anything else from Kaewon has been flawless, so once again. I fault the bolt action by nature

Working on a Masterpoint and 10 hours into the print I had a power outage. Tried to restart the print at work and checked on it only to see a major layer shift. Figured I’d have to reprint it anyways, but still sucks.

So I’m looking to play with some kydex and make a few holsters.

I’m looking for 1:1 non-functional copies of the most popular pistols. I found a few from hunteroftheyellowdog, but do you all have any recommendations?

I’m not sure if this is the correct forum for the question, but it seems like the best place to start since I plan on printing the copies.

Looking at printing the null22 but I was wondering if I can buy an actual barrel or if I have to make one. Also is there any assembly instructions or videos anywhere, also a list of where to get all the parts needed to fully assemble. Thanks 😊

Gunbusters does misc parts lots weekly of what seems to be all the leftovers that didn't sell. Usually a lot of revolver parts, some barrels, and rifle bolts. Sometimes random handgun slides etc

I've see some eventually go for $200-250 but this week's lot is at $480 in the first few hours. Any experts can tell why? On GBroker search "1097705828"

I am looking for advice for a beginner. I have 3d printing experience and experience using firearms but not building them. I am interested in making the 3dp90 but am unsure on the feasibility and all the required parts you need to purchase/modify. With the guides to files are the instructions easy to follow and the parts easy to source and install? Am I biting off more than I can chew with this model and is the a more beginner friendly PDW I can start with? I am not interested in the Glock clones even though they seem to be the simplest. The P90 is just so nostalgic and feels like a fun project. Also could someone give a ball park cost I should except? TIA

Hello. I’m new here, and somewhat new to this scene. I have a fully working G19 FMDA build, so I wanted to build a G17 / 34. I have the frame and lower parts assembled, but for whatever reason, this slide (ROCK SLIDES G34 GEN 3) will NOT slide into the frame. Even if I lower the slide release pull tab when trying to get it on, it will not pass and will not load onto the frame. On two occasions, I got it onto the frame by priming the trigger before hand (no idea why this mattered or helped) and then I could not get the slide back off; even with the slide release tab being pulled down. I had to disassemble the whole lower to get the slide off the rails. When it was on the rails fully one time without priming the trigger, when I cocked it back, it did not prime the trigger and there was no action. The only thing I can t

    P322 Hot Pocket Remix

Modified the Hot Pocket by Middleton Made to better fit the p322. I additionally made a few changes to simplify the print, as well as add a rear, removable cross bar for additional support and to prevent the chassis from sagging.

I also modified the Sauerkraut V1 to utilize an AR-15 style buffer tube so you can put adjustable braces on it, supporting 4 positions.

I plan on posting the buffer + steady brace soon, but still doing some testing on the p322 chassis.

    SL-15 V4.8.A Beginner Guide

Brand new to 3D printing. I'm using Polymaker PLA Pro, and a Qidi Q1 Pro. I have both Orca and Prusa. I've read through Hoffmans SL-15 docs, but am still a bit confused.

I guess my question is: once I have my printer temps/settings right, can I just load the lower file into Prusa and begin printing? I understand Hoffman mentions a lot of advanced settings in the docs, but was wondering if those are automatically preset in the file?

As a member of other niche communities I'm fully aware of the cringe status of this post. I don't want to start somewhere more simple, I bought a printer specifically for these lowers.

    Any valuable input highly appreciated.

Since you guys named my first mix you can do another.

This is a left handed VSG that will hold 5 rounds of supressed subsonic .300 blackout. This is a remix of one of his mounts modified from the 26mm launcher and his left handed vsg.

I could use some beta testers to help me refine this file. I have some voids I'm having issues eliminating.

Ik the scarab v2 is well tested but does this also live up to the scarab v2 longevity since its a remix?

    15mm Smoke Projectile Ignition Issue

As the title says, I got around to testing some projectiles, and I made a smoke mixture to put in the projectiles. I'm using KNO3, Powdered Sugar, and Mineral Oil and the mixture burns/smokes great.

But using a visco fuse (stolen from fireworks) inside the projectile doesn't seem to be igniting the mixture fast enough. Does anyone have any tips or other fuse options that may burn a bit slower, so the mixture actually burns? Or is there something that I'm missing?

Just got a 3d printer and am pretty invested in printing my own pcc. There are a few requirements,

Has to take glock mags. (have A LOT of them) Can be suppressed Bufferless Has the ability to have a SS. (This requirement isnt the biggest because I do plan on doing designs of my own to provide to the community)

Anyways I did look online about different pcc but everytime i dug deeper it seems like there are more than I thought.

So far I like the db alloy, rogue 9, and mod9. But since you guys know way more than me since I am starting out i would appreciate a pretty good list with all my requirements.
