Great arguement man, it's an old username. Didn't realize Iguana based usernames were the pinical of truth.

If you don't wan't to be compliant go for it man. Throw as many stocks on your SBRs as you want. No one even gave you flak so you can relax.

  • u/iguanaish · 2025-03-04 00:09:28 UTC · score 1

I was born free in a free country not born to be compliant because someone “with authority” said so

And don’t worry I’m not worried about taking flak from someone who has airsoft in their username that’s for sure

  • u/Jrmuscle · 2025-03-03 23:02:50 UTC · score 1

Sounds like the ATF's typical agenda. "Keep it as broad as possible in case one of our Agents has a bad day and wants to take it out on someone innocent"

  • u/Jrmuscle · 2025-03-03 22:57:17 UTC · score 1

See, this is the problem I'm having, because there are plenty of commercial options that are wider and FAR more comfortable to shoulder...or...so I've been told...then this one. It's not even that thick at the butt.

If I take the texturing away in the back, would that really be all I need for it to be considered a "brace" by most?

  • u/Dense_Scarcity6196 · 2025-03-03 22:28:58 UTC · score -4

I was halfway being sarcastic, because all braces just look like a stock with some cheap Velcro on it lol

  • u/Jrmuscle · 2025-03-03 22:34:29 UTC · score 1

I understand. Just trying to get a little more educated on the ATF's brain dead rulings.

  • u/Jrmuscle · 2025-03-03 23:31:13 UTC · score 1

My point was the files have a recoil pad included, but I don't have it installed. My logic with that was that it's in it's "brace configuration"

This is absolutely cope and I'm not ashamed

    No worries!

All good. To me, as other users have stated above, it appears to be a clone of a commercially available stock. If the rear of the brace is thin and has less surface area, similar to "blade" style braces, then I would say it's g2g. Otherwise, it appears as if it was designed to be intentionally shouldered, especially if a recoil paid can fit on it. You don't need a recoil paid for a brace.

My opinion, and obviously I am not a lawyer, but I would get a steady brace (or print one) and get the steady brace extension similar to:

    https://a3tactical.com/modular-folding-brace-picatinny-mount-1913/

Again, I'm new to all this so if you can print it (find files or design it) more power to you, but that's my $0.02.

I didn't see it had slots already, that's my bad.

  • u/TresCeroOdio · 2025-03-03 23:29:38 UTC · score 4

Why would you need a recoil pad on a brace? Stop trying to justify this to yourself man, it’s a stock. Rock it if you want but know what it is.

  • u/danandkari · 2025-03-03 22:27:13 UTC · score 7

Ehhhh guess it's me. That's definitely a stock -not a brace. And ya the flat back- it's to fit your shoulder. Brace would be thin and not easily shouldered.

I got an elegoo centauri carbon! It came with an "elegoo" slicer prigram, which i quickly figured out is just orca, which i have been meaning to learn to use for the past year or more😒. But ive been printing out some lowers that im not going to use however im thinking about turning them into toys for my kids maybe? Something that just makes a click sound or maybe fires the foam darts or something. Seems like a waist to just toss them. Anyone done this? Or have ideas how? I dont want to put an actual trigger or rails, not worried about authenticity or dimensional accuracy, just something that at the very least can help with gun safety training.

Alright boys, got her all together! UMP 11/9 with the super safe lower remix on the sea from u/AlexPhoenix. STL begged for a SB Tactical brace mount, and u/M1ke843 was kind enough to help me. Have to say a big thank you to Mike for that, and the brace hinge works great!

Printed out of PPA-CF, it should last a very long time.

Also threw in a PPA-CF printed SS, just to see how long it will last. If anybody has any experiences using PPA-CF in SS cams, I would love to know what you got out of yours!

Does anyone happen to have the dxf file for the trunnion plate? I only have the free version of fusion, and it won't let me convert the step to dxf. It's the only part I need, in order to build this thing.

    556 Upper Receiver, thoughts?

Full printed 223/556 upper receiver I have came up with. Similar to Biden’s Bane. Barrel Nut is held on with 4 m4x25-30 screws and the handguard is secured by 3 m4x25mm screws. Thoughts, criticism welcome. This has just finished in cad, have not tested. As is probably wouldn’t be the most durable, but I am just trying to come up with a decent printed upper that will work.

Just curious as to if there’s any 320/203 under barrel files out there, in the works or just nonexistent. Thinking about an under barrel single shot, shotgun/launcher/signal device coming around makes me feel mushy inside.

    G19 for size comparison.

    v0.2 changes

    • Non-reciprocating charging handle
    • Took ~25mm off of the overall length
    • All-metal barrel mounting
    • Modular magwell and endcap (other .22 mags and higher calibers)
    • HK style bolt-hold-open (no lrbho yet)
    • Thin cuts for a sheet-metal trip to ride in, on the bottom of the upper
    • A bunch of tappable holes whereverthefuck because I have no idea what I'll want to do/add in the future
    • Front takedown plates are marginally better; I'll probably move them inside the tube eventually, but this is more convenient for testing

The old bolt feeds and ejects well, but I still need to make a new one for the shorter upper. My next endeavor will be a bolt-bounce solution. I'm probably going to start with trying to cram a piece or two of .22 lead into a cha

Have a pretty good concept im thinking about pursuing that i think would be interesting and im trying to avoid having to hand measure and draw out the base as its essentially an addition to a pre existing part for the main body. Is there an app you could use off the iPhone lidar or something similar to pull a general cad file from or am I going to have to hand sketch the majority? Im aware it wouldn't be perfect dimensions which is fine for now but as its just a concept im not wanting to put money into a high $ legitimate scanner. Im very familiar with cad but will likely end up using something cheap/free like solid works etc.
